    What Is Mucoid Plaque?

Irritable bowel syndrome, fatigue, protruding belly, constipation? These are just a few symptoms that can be caused by a build-up of mucoid plaque and a polluted colon.

Just what is mucoid plaque? Well, it is defined by Richard Anderson, a naturopathic doctor, who coined this unique phrase, as a mucus-like material and food residue that forms in your gastrointestinal tract. It is usually formed when your body produces too much mucus. Your body does this because it wants to protect itself from potentially toxic substances.

Keep in mind that when you are researching mucoid plaque on the Internet, you will find that there is a split between the natural health and the medical communities. The natural health community embrace the mucoid plaque as being a valid reason for the colon not working at its optimum. While this is not supported by medical or scientific research, it doesn't stop all the testimonies that you will read on several different websites that describe the mucoid plaque and also all the colon cleanse pictures showing the disgusting, foul-looking gunk that exits our body.

In color, mucoid plaque can be gray, yellow, green or light green, or light brown to black, but usually is blackish green, which may indicate a sign of bile that is toxic. Hence a good sign that detoxifying the colon is necessary. For many people, the more they cleanse the lighter in color the mucoid plaque seems to get. It is recommended to keep cleansing the colon until the mucoid plaque is light in color. I notice the lightness increase whenever I do my colon cleansing at home.

Toxins come into the body in a variety of ways; from breathing in polluted air to eating the many processed foods or drinking unfiltered water. The continual build-up of mucoid plaque greatly decreases how well you absorb the nutrients in your food. Also, mucoid plaque build-up has been linked with skin problems, allergies, bad breath and even mood swings.

A good choice for removing plaque is doing a good home colon cleanse . There are many choices available to you but using one that is deemed safe, gentle and natural is your best bet.

If you are someone like me who is a bit skeptical in regards to "what is mucoid plaque" and its presence in the intestines. I have done a natural home colon cleanse and I will say that I have experienced the varying colors throughout my cleanse. I also referred to my bowel movements as looking very alien.

However or whatever you choose to believe about mucoid plaque, from my experience with the DrFloras home colon cleanse, I definitely got a thorough intestinal cleaning!
